The program is designed to be interactive and engaging, with workshops, presentations, and activities. It will be held at the Midland ISD Early Childhood Center. The program is free to attend, and open to all parents of children ages 3-5. The program is a collaborative effort between Midland ISD, the Midland County Health Department, and the Midland County Early Childhood Education Coalition. The program is a response to the growing need for early childhood education in Midland County.
“They get to see the classrooms, the playground, the cafeteria, and all the other areas of the school. This helps them feel more comfortable when they start kindergarten.”
The program also helps students develop social skills. “It’s a great way to teach them how to interact with other children,” Fernandez said. “They learn how to share, take turns, and cooperate.”
The program is designed to be a bridge between pre-K and kindergarten. It helps students transition smoothly into the next grade level.
