The show has intrigued the Duke of York to such an extent that he’s apparently planning to throw a watch party at Windsor’s Royal Lodge when it airs in the UK on September 19. “Andrew was very excited when Scoop came out and he’s also looking forward to seeing how he’s been portrayed in the new one [A Very Royal Scandal],” a source told the Sunday Express. “He’s planning to watch it like everyone else with a mini viewing party [at Royal Lodge].” (Image: UK Press via Getty Images) Despite the upcoming release of ‘A Very Royal Scandal’, a drama series that will feature portrayals of Prince Andrew and Princess Beatrice, sources claim the royal duo are not overly concerned. “Both Andrew and Beatrice are not so troubled by the release of this one,” a source revealed.

“Beatrice was very troubled prior to the launch of Scoop because she thought it would ruin all the good work she had done, but it quickly became evident that the portrayal of her was respectful, so she is not in as much fear about this one [A Very Royal Scandal].” The series is based on a 2019 Newsnight episode that explored Prince Andrew’s connection to the Epstein scandal and the allegations made by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, which the Duke has consistently and vehemently denied. He reached an out-of-court settlement with Virginia, who had brought a civil case against him for sexual assault, although the settlement was not an admission of guilt and Andrew accepted no liability.

On the poignant second anniversary of his mother’s death, Andrew’s older brother King Charles attended Sunday service at Crathie Kirk close to Balmoral, his late mother’s cherished estate. The 75-year-old monarch and Queen Camilla were seen arriving at the church for the afternoon service. King Charles opted for a sombre charcoal grey suit with a black and burgundy tie, while Queen Camilla, at 77, chose a vibrant red and green tartan outfit, topped with a coordinating hat.

A royal source told the Sunday Express that the King “misses his mummy terribly” and also intended to honour her memory with personal contemplation and prayer. In keeping with tradition, no other formal commemorative events were scheduled for the day.
